An extreme processor

The Galaxy S20 5G is powered by the most powerful Samsung processor, the Exynos 990. Engraved in 7 nm, this component incorporates two high-performance Samsung Mongoose 5 cores clocked at 2.73 GHz, supported by two ARM Cortex-A76 cores at 2.5 GHz. Four 2 GHz ARM Cortex-A55 cores will take over for the less demanding tasks. This combination boosts performance by up to 20% compared to the previous top-of-the-range Exynos.

On the graphics side, an 11-core ARM Mali-G77 is offered. A first on the market, with again a gain of 20% announced by Samsung. 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM are included, as well as 128 GB of ultra-fast storage space. Many PCs are not so well equipped. A dual-core artificial intelligence acceleration unit is present. But it is on the modem side that the Exynos 990 is most attractive, with support for 5G at 7.35 Gb / s and 4G at 3 Gb / s. The Samsung Galaxy S20 5G is thus ready for the arrival of French 5G. It can even combine 4G and 5G, to offer even higher speeds.
