Just like Nintendo Switch, Switch (OLED) allows players to play on the TV and share the detachable Joy-Con controllers for right-out-of-the-box multiplayer fun. And just like both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite, with the Switch OLED model, the system can be taken on the go to enjoy its play-anywhere versatility. A carrying case and screen protector set for the Switch OLED model will also be available.

Nintendo Switch (OLED) will let players experience enhancements in all three play modes:

  • TV mode: Set the Switch (OLED model) system into the dock to play Nintendo Switch games on the TV. By using the built-in wired LAN port, players can enjoy another way to connect online in TV mode.
  • Tabletop mode: Flip the stand on the back of the system and use the system’s screen to play multiplayer games using two Joy-Con controllers right out of the box. A wide adjustable stand makes for a solid and sturdy foundation. It allows players to freely tilt the system and adjust the viewing angle, so it makes it easier to see the screen.
  • Handheld mode: Players can bring the system wherever they go in handheld mode and play local or online multiplayer with friends. The system’s 7-inch OLED screen provides vivid color and crisp contrast.

The new Switch (OLED model) is a great option for players who want to experience the new vibrant screen when playing in handheld and tabletop mode,” said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. “With the addition of this new model to the Nintendo Switch family of systems, people have an additional choice of a system that best fits the gaming experience they desire – whether it’s Nintendo Switch (OLED), Nintendo Switch, or Nintendo Switch Lite.

When the system comes in two color options:
– Switch (OLED model) white set, which features white Joy-Con controllers, a black main unit, and a white dock.
– Switch (OLED model) neon red/neon blue set, which features neon red and neon blue Joy-Con controllers, a black main unit, and a black dock.

All previously released Joy-Con for Nintendo Switch are compatible with this new model. Additionally, Nintendo Switch OLED is compatible with the full library of Nintendo Switch games.

Warranty

1. What is Warranty?

  • A warranty for electronics is a guarantee provided by the manufacturer or retailer, stating that they will repair or replace a product if necessary within a certain period after purchase, typically due to defects in materials or workmanship.

2. Types of Warranty

  • Manufacturer's Warranty: Provided by the product manufacturer, typically for 1-2 years.
  • Extended Warranty: Optional coverage purchased beyond the standard manufacturer's warranty, usually offering extra protection for a longer period.
  • Retailer Warranty: Offered by the store or retailer from where the product was purchased, sometimes differing from the manufacturer's warranty.

3. Coverage Inclusions

  • Defective Parts: If any internal parts malfunction due to manufacturing defects.
  • Repairs & Replacements: The product can be repaired or replaced free of charge.
  • Labor Costs: These are often included in the warranty, covering the labor for repair.

4. Exclusions from Warranty

  • Accidental Damage: Damage caused by mishandling, drops, or spills is usually not covered.
  • Wear and Tear: Parts that naturally degrade over time, like batteries or screens, may not be covered.
  • Improper Use: Misuse, unauthorized repairs, or modifications often void the warranty.
  • Cosmetic Damage: Scratches, dents, or other surface damage typically isn’t covered unless it affects functionality.

5. Warranty Period

  • Typically ranges from 1 to 3 years but may vary by product or manufacturer.
  • The period begins from the date of purchase or receipt.

6. How to Claim Warranty

  • Proof of Purchase: Required to prove the product is still under warranty.
  • Contact Manufacturer/Retailer: Most companies provide customer service or an online portal for warranty claims.
  • Repair or Replacement: The company will either repair or replace the defective product.

7. Transferable Warranties

  • Some warranties are transferable if the product changes ownership, while others are non-transferable and only apply to the original buyer.

8. Importance of Registering Products

  • Registering the product with the manufacturer, either online or via mail, helps ensure the warranty is valid and allows for better tracking of warranty claims.

9. Extended Warranty vs. Insurance

  • Extended Warranty: Extends the manufacturer's coverage for a set period.
  • Insurance: Covers broader risks, including accidental damage, loss, or theft, often for a higher cost.
