The price of the Google Pixel 9 Pro in Kenya is KShs 110,000 for the 128 GB storage variant and KShs 125,000 for the 256 GB storage variant. Launched in August 2024, the Google Pixel 9 Pro is driven by the Google Tensor G4 (4 nm) chipsets with Mali-G715 MC7 GPU. The phone packs 16 GB RAM and 1 TB of internal storage, which is not expandable.

It features a 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 2856 pixels and a pixel density of 497 ppi with Gorilla Glass protection. For photography, it has a 50 MP main camera and a 42 MP front camera for selfies. It also has a USB Type-C port for data synchronization and charging. Fingerprint reader, magnetic field sensor (compass), gyroscope, proximity sensor, and accelerometer are also available. Google Pixel 9 Pro includes single SIM with 3G, NFC, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

It operates on Android 14 and is upgradable up to 7 major Android versions. All of this is powered by a 4700 mAh battery. The device is 152.8 x 72 x 8.5 mm (height x width x thickness) in dimensions and weighs 199 grams with the battery.

Display

The Google Pixel 9 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display offering vivid and clear visuals at a resolution of 1280 x 2856 pixels. With 120Hz refresh rate, the display offers super-smooth scrolling and glitch-free user experience perfect for web surfing and gaming. It has HDR10+ support as well on the screen, with better contrast and richer colors, up to 2000 nits of brightness when in high brightness mode and a maximum of 3000 nits, all with excellent readability under direct sun. It has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, resistant to scratches and accidental drops.

The Pixel 9 Pro has a high-end design with a glass front and rear made of Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is scratch-resistant and strong. Its aluminum chassis contributes to the overall premium feel and robustness of the phone. Its IP68 rating confirms that the phone is dust-proof and water-proof and can be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
